With more than 20 years of experience as a thought leader at GE, Mr. Day, Principal of the Hospital of the Future team within GE Healthcare Partners, leads a group that helps healthcare providers plan and design new facilities that are fundamentally more efficient in the delivery of clinical care.
For the last six years, he has focused exclusively on healthcare infrastructure and facilities planning with hospital senior executives to improve operations performance via healthcare facility design. He also has built a team of clinicians, workflow specialists and simulation modelers dedicated to changing the way facilities support and enable detailed clinical workflow and to anticipating the implications of future state clinical technology.
Previously, Mr. Day has held several positions within GE driving strategic customer application development, simulation, new product development, marketing, sales, product management and consulting programs. His leadership experience includes developing and managing a large technical team responsible for improving the productivity of OEMs and suppliers across multiple industries. He also built a consulting organization within GE's materials business that provided professional performance improvement in a variety of industries.
Mr. Day has a Bachelor of Science in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Cornell University. He holds multiple patents in healthcare and industry, is an active member of ACHE, and speaks regularly both at national conferences on healthcare design and at hundreds of GE-sponsored healthcare and executive meetings.
